Bethany is inspired by texture, which is why she gravitates towards working with different types of wood. Her paintings and whimsical images become an outlet where she develops a story and the rest is open for wonder. She tends to display graphic design elements in much of her art and likes to experiment with different techniques, paints, papers, and plaster.
Each piece Bethany creates is a slice of self-expression pie from finding the beauty in knobby wood to giving quirk to a simple animal. Sometimes it’s on purpose and sometimes it’s just a great mistake, but she knows when it’s just as it should be.
