Jim Hicks lives in Madison Heights, VA. He studied art at VCU in the 1960s, but after graduation he put his painting aside and joined the corporate world. After retirement, he picked up his brushes again and used the beauty of the Virginia foothills as inspiration for his artwork. He finds inspiration from the mountains that surround his home and from the animals, plants, and flowers from local farms and fields.
