Liz Aldag Durham, NC
Liz is a small-batch ceramic artist creating functional, wheel-thrown pottery in downtown Durham, North Carolina. She is drawn to simple patterns, clean lines, and unfussy shapes. All of her glazes are lead-free, and all finished products are food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.
During the day, Liz works as an art therapist; She has worked with many populations including children with developmental disorders, newly arrived refugees, and children who suffer from serious medical conditions. Because of this work, she strongly believes that art-making is a form of communication and a vehicle for social justice, and she often brings elements of this viewpoint into her work.
