Emily Flores, owner and potter of Happy Dog Pottery, makes functional and colorful pottery out of her home studio with the help of her two dogs, Woods and Arva. A former teacher, Emily discovered her love for clay in 2017 after taking her first pottery class at a community art center in Greensboro, NC.
Soon, Happy Dog Pottery was born, and her self-described obsession manifested itself at her wheel and in her “glaze lab” where she has practiced, tested and explored new shapes, colors, and techniques. Happy Dog Pottery is characterized by colorful hand mixed glazes and a wide variety of meant-to-be-used, unique stoneware forms. Every kiln load includes at least one experiment, and although Emily’s collections are always evolving, some of her most popular pieces include Paw Print mugs and colorful tumblers.
